Daily gratitude

I'm sitting here on Tuesday night fighting with my emotions if I should put this down on paper but then I realized that not only will it help myself but it may help someone out

Tonight as I go around my house getting my laundry ready putting things away doing the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen putting things away organizing things I realize that I'm extremely proud of myself

It's crazy to realize that I've been on my own since I was 18 years old

I made it through high school with the help of my parents and my grandmother and they made it through college all on my own

I have my own apartment and I'm on my own and nobody thought it was doable except for my mother and my grandmother they always gave me the encouragement and told me anything is possible

It amazes me that I've been helping out at the Boys & Girls Club since 2009 and all the staff that I work with in some of the young women and young men but I now work with that were children at the club when I started is just amazing..... it just shows me how much of a difference one person can make even if that person uses a wheelchair and has different abilities

I'm so proud of myself to realize that I am a registered voter and that I have the capability to sharing my opinion on issues that matter

I'm so proud of myself that I started my own business in 2013 and it's been going strong ever since yes I've had my ups and downs with the whole endeavor butt I wouldn't have asked for it any other way because that's what makes me a stronger person

Now you may be asking why I'm writing all this down tonight to be honest I can't really tell you and I can't really give you an answer I just feel like it's on my heart tonight so I need to write it down

I'm so proud of myself but I've come so far in the past few years dealing with all the situations that I have dealt with and all the ups and down and through it all they seem to come out on top no matter the situation I'm not going to sit here and tell you that everything is perfect because it's not but I am going to tell you that I love myself and I love the young woman I am today and I hope that my family is just as proud of me that I am of myself

I hope in some way that this daily gratitude makes you think or maybe makes you smile and if it helps you in any way I'm grateful I'm happy that I put a smile on your face and that you feel good about reading this post.... I love each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart and I hope but you have a fabulous day tomorrow

Get out and vote!

Super excited to tell you that I called for my absentee ballot to vote this year.... I'm still completely unsure who I'm going to vote for because neither one of the candidates have really expressed how they're going to help the disabled community and that's one of the things that I look for the most but at least I can say I'm very proud of myself that I called for my absentee ballot so in a few days I will have it in the mail so that I can vote

I remember the first time I went to vote my mom wanted to make sure that I was a registered voter and that I am able to have my opinion when the time comes to vote on different issues so I have to say a big thank you to my mother I'm very proud to be a voter and be able to share my opinion

So if your not a registered voter and your a friend of mine in the disabled Community please think about going and regular string today and casting your ballot when it is time that is the only way we're going to get change for ourselves and for the world... have a great day everyone and remember to go out and make someone smile because that's what makes the world a better place

I had a fabulous day at the club today.... I even had one of the little children asked me if I was a grandmother..... apparently I look old enough to be a Grandma

I just giggle to myself and said no sweetheart I'm not a Grandma

Now that makes for a fabulous afternoon so I think I can have some chocolate!!!

This morning I woke up and realize that I wasn't feeling quite myself

This morning I woke up and realize that I wasn't feeling quite myself so I decided to put myself in the shower at 12 get myself dressed brush my red hair brush my teeth and now I'm going to take my medicine and have a warm cup of coffee on this cold chilly Sunday

If you're not feeling quite yourself today stop and take care of yourself maybe put yourself in the shower put some clean clothes on brush your hair brush your teeth and maybe it'll make you feel little bit better about yourself

I don't know what it is about cleaning myself up and making myself feel a little beautiful and taking a shower but that always helps me feel a little better

So with all of that friends I hope each and everyone of you are having a great Sunday and that Monday goes well for you all

6am.....

What Misty does at 6 a.m. when she realizes that she's up for the day

Put some warm comfy clothes on and their hair in a messy bun

Makes herself a cup of coffee in turns on her audiobook and sits by the table and fills out paperwork that needs to be put in the mail

Puts the cat in the back room because she's driving me nuts because it's 6 a.m. she think she needs to eat breakfast

At 9 a.m. she puts the paperwork in the mail and decides that she's going to do a load of laundry because the laundry room is empty and no one is using it

Great day!!!!

What a great day down at courage Kenny rehabilitation institute for this wheelchair Clinic.... I'm so happy with what transpired today.... I've never had so much one-on-one consultation about my wheelchair to get me what I want so I'm comfortable and what I am sitting in and using and they took so much information down to get me the right chair and took so many measurements so that they know I'm comfortable in my chair as well

A representative from reliable medical came down as well to be at this meeting with me so they could get the measurements and have all the information they need to give me the right chairs to try I'm excited for what's to come in the next few weeks I am able to try a few chairs and then decide which chair I want.... all going through reliable medical here in st. Cloud.. as soon as the doctor signs off on the paperwork reliable medical will be able to bring me some chairs to try out and every chair I can try....... I get to try for at least a week... I am super happy with this experience and will definitely be doing it again in about seven years to get another chair

But still super excited to see what's coming in the next couple weeks as I continue to work on getting everything set up and finding my new chair

So excited!!!

Tomorrow I am getting set to go down to the city's to Courage Kenny rehabilitation institute for a wheelchair Clinic I am super excited to have this experience it's amazing what life brings me as I continue to grow into who I am I've never been to one of these clinics before but I've heard of them so I am super excited to be able to experience one so I will be up at 5 tomorrow morning to head down to the cities at 8:45 for my appointment at 11 o'clock it's going to be a long day but a very excited one and by the end of the day I will have my paperwork started for my new wheelchair now that is something to be excited about

So I'm going to be spending the day getting everything ready to go packing my stuff making sure I have a snack and making sure I have everything ready to go in the morning because I will be doing this myself and I will have no PCA to help me in the morning so I'm doing everything as best I can today so that in the morning I can just get up and get dressed have breakfast and head out the door

I'm super-excited friends and maybe I'll come home with a picture of my new wheelchair that will be all mine in a few months

Feeling so grateful as time ticks away and it gets closer and closer have a great day everyone remember to go out and make someone smile cuz that's what makes the world a better place

Medical Update

Medical Update

When I had my physical a few months back we found that my thyroid was a little low if you didn't know your thyroid can be low and it can be high mine happened to be a little low which is not good your thyroid helps with almost all your bodily functions so if it's out of whack your whole body can be out of whack

So as of Tuesday I had it retested and they did three different thyroid tests that they could do my numbers are still a little bit low so we are going to retest it in about 4 months to see where it's at and at that time we'll go from there I don't know of any medication that will be adding yet but as I know I will let you know

I love each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart and I am trying my hardest to keep you up-to-date on everything sometimes the days just get away from me and I forget to update so as we find out more I will keep you posted as best as I can but that is it for now and I hope that each and everyone of you have a great day

Hope.....

There's something different in the air today as I walk to the store and home again I realized it it's quiet and there's no people around no kids playing on playgrounds and running after each other and laughing and having a good time

it was even so quiet that I heard the Crickets and all the little bugs that you usually hear at night time I heard them in the daytime when the sun is out and the weather is nice

there is definitely something different in the air today after the stabbings at the mall last night

it saddens me today that the mall is it open and they probably won't be open tomorrow either or maybe even the next day who knows that the children were outside playing on this beautiful day laughing and having a good time you really realize that something happened when everything is so silent

even as I was walking back from the store I was checking my surroundings and making sure I was safe because I was so uncomfortable going into that grocery store where I go so many times..... there was even a change in the grocery store as I walked in the door people were more quiet and reserved as they got their groceries it's kind of like they just wanted to get their groceries and Go home....Like I'm just going to get my stuff and go because there's no reason to hang out in the grocery store something as simple as going to the grocery store can be a scary thought now

we all need to me this world a better place we all need to work together so that it's a safe place for everyone the world doesn't need all this violence all we need to do is get along and work together as a team to make this world a better place and a beautiful place to live

I hope that you take some time and read this today and maybe just take some time out of your day and hug who you're with today because who knows tomorrow you may not see them love your life today love who you're with and hope that you see tomorrow

Hi friends I need your help I'm finding that the magnets on the back of sticky noteswork really well for crafts

So here's what I'm asking if you should get a sticky notes or a pack of sticky notes that have magnets on the back of them remove them when you are done with your sticky notes and send them my way so that I can reuse them on my magnets

I'm attaching a picture to the end of this post so that you know what I'm talking about

Sad.....

My heart hurts as I learn of the stabbings at the st. Cloud Mall tonight

That is so close to where I live it's scary... this world is really starting to scare me.... I do not understand why we have to have all this violence in this world of ours this world of ours is a beautiful place if we just let it be beautiful

It's just one more place that I will not go by myself anymore .... to be honest that place always made me nervous anyways because it's so big and so many people so I definitely will not be going there by myself anymore I'd rather shop from home and be safe in my home then go out to the mall where you're supposed to be able to have fun and have somebody stab you..... I just don't understand and maybe I'm not supposed to but it just makes me really really sad and really scared that it's that close to where I live

That's what I always say go out and make someone smile because that's what makes the world a better place hold your friends tight hold your family tight make sure you make a difference in this world because tomorrow is not promised

I love you friends with all of my heart and please let's make a change but stop this ..... we need to get along and let this world be a happy place and a beautiful place to live not a scary place I should not be afraid to walk out my door and go somewhere but that's what it's coming to

Make a pact to yourself that you're going to make this world a better place that you're going to help someone when you see them in need that you're going to open the door for someone or ask someone if you can carry their bags of groceries or give them a dollar to make a phone call or four persons homeless give them the pair of gloves and a warm blanket so at least you know they will stay a little bit warm outside in the winter time..... Let's make a change and make this world a better place

As I go to bed tonight I'm saying a prayer for all those that were hurt tonight and that this doesn't get any worse I just want a peaceful place to live a beautiful Earth

Update

So people have been sending me messages asking me how I'm doing I'm doing fantastic friends just taking the time for myself and taking care of myself and doing my daily tasks is what I've been doing

Next week will be a busy week for me I'm planning on going to the club on Monday if the weather is good Tuesday I head to the doctor to get my thyroid rechecked and I pray to God that it's normal so I don't have to add another medication to my regimen I'm also getting my flu shot that day and meeting with my care coordinator

Wednesday is just the day at home with my PCA so she can clean my house and help me with my laundry Thursday I will be headed to the Boys & Girls Club for a few more hours hopefully if the weather's good and Friday I'm headed to the cities for a wheelchair clinic to get the paperwork started for my new wheelchair yay excited if I could jump up and down I would

Here's why I'm writing today.... Misty's keychains is in need of a few things so I thought I put it down in a little message on here and post it on the blog as well

Zip lock bags ---big and small

Magnets preferably the round ones but any will do

Craft lace.... at this time we really need white and black but any color will do

Any craft item that has to do with fall Halloween or Christmas because those are the holidays that are coming up soon and those are some things that I would like to put in the boxes as of now

One more thing on this list we can always use ink for the printer so that we can keep printing things and sending things

Like I've said before even just one item will help out tremendously..... I Misty usually don't put list like this up but I realized in the past few months that it's helping generate traffic on the website and the Facebook page as well and I seem to be getting more donations by doing this

Or if you just feel like helping sending out a box of keychains it usually takes between 10 to $20 to mail a box of keychains and we're mailing out and a box of keychains a hundred items so if you feel like helping that way please message me privately and we can talk about it

This morning!!

As I wake up this morning I realized I am going to pull myself out of my space and go make some new memories

I put my hair up in a messy bun put some clothes on and I have plans on going to put away more of my garden stuff for the season

I'm going to smile through my day because on this day several years ago many people passed away and I know in my heart of hearts that those people who passed away who are watching over us would want us to smile and think of them in a good way so that is what I'm going to do I'm wishing each and everyone of you a fantastic day filled with love family and whatever comes your way

Since I took my Hiatus from Facebook and the computer itself I've realized that it's okay to just live life

It's ok to sleep in

It's ok to actually finish your book and start another one and you're already halfway through

It's okay to work on things that are right in front of you and get so much accomplished at the same time

I love when my friends drop off food just because they can or leave it by my door but when you do that just check the date on whatever you're bringing before you drop it by my door because today I threw a lot of food because it was expired and there's no way I'm eating expired food

As of today my house is clean my laundry is done and put away the kitchen cupboards are cleaned out and put back together again

the cat is happy because is fed and her box is clean and she has nothing to worry about except for sleeping and when it's time to eat again

A shower and clean clothes and a little perfume always makes me feel little bit better about starting a new day!!!!

I never thought I would say this but my Afo's are a lifesaver.... I decided not to put them on this morning after my shower but it is 3 o'clock in the afternoon and my feet are hurting really bad so I decided to take some time and put my braces and shoes on and I've only had them on for about 10 minutes and my feet feel so much better

There are some days where I just want to wake up and not go with the shoes today but I'm realizing today that I just can't do that anymore my feet are too sensitive

No one will probably care about the status except for me and my friends that know exactly what I'm talking about but that's okay because I'm going to post it anyways

Yes friends I do own a straightener and today I just felt like I needed to straighten my hair and take care of myself and be a girl

I don't do it very often but I have to say I look pretty damn good with straight hair!! :)....
